UPDATE 2021: 10 years on and Tropic Skincare has gone through several changes and now boasts a vast collection of products. My original review is outdated due to product changes but it remains on this page for reference. The image has been replaced to show the latest version of the products featured in this review.

For those of you that are not familiar with the brand Tropic is a natural skincare line. Products are formulated from plant ingredients, they are cruelty free and vegan. When I think of face masks I typically imagine a mud or clay mask but Tropic’s Polishing Mask is completely different. This is a 2 in 1 product that acts as an exfoliator and luxury moisturiser. In the bottom of the jar is a layer of rice flour and sugar cane and suspended on top is oil. This mask contains wonderful ingredients - Organic Rice Flour, Sugar Cane, Golden Jojoba Oil, Macadamia Oil, Sweet Almond Oil, Natural Vitamin E, Acai Berry Oil, Camomile Essential Oil, Lemon Essential Oil, Sweet Orange Essential Oil, Peppermint Essential Oil. The fragrance is citrus which is uplifting but not overpowering.

So how does it work? You are instructed to massage onto dry skin, leave for 2 minutes and rinse with warm water. As the product is a little bit messy I opt to use it in the shower. The granules are very fine, soft and almost a powder. If my face is feeling overly sensitive I dampen my skin first by either splashing with water or wiping over with Tropic Toner. As you massage the granules melt away and you are left with a heavy layer of oil. Do not panic about the oily layer left behind, by the time you finish your shower and get dressed the oil has been absorbed and you are left with super soft silky smooth gorgeous skin. It is suggested you use this mask twice a week. I would suggest using it as often as you feel necessary. Personally I use it as a skin treat every couple of weeks. It is a gentle product but I do have to be careful not to over exfoliate my face.

Tropic 2 in 1 Polishing Mask stands out to me as being quite unique in it's delivery. When you have sensitive skin exfoliators can be drying but the benefit with this product is the oil replenishes moisture levels. Aside from being a bit messy, I really cannot find anything bad to say about this product.
