A Tropical Delight: Tropic Pure Plant Skincare Organic 2 in 1 Polishing Mask

A little while ago I promised a review for Tropic Pure Plant Skin Care's Organic 2 in 1 Polishing Mask.  If you have not already seen my review of the ABC range then click here.

For those of you that are not familiar with the brand Tropic is a natural skincare line.  "All our ingredients are free from chemicals, artificial perfumes and synthetic materials.   We never use ingredients derived from animals and are strict in our Vegan ways."

When I think of face masks I typically imagine a mud or clay mask.  Scratch that thought because Tropic’s mask is completely different.  This is a 2 in 1 product that acts as an exfoliator and luxury moisturiser.  In the bottom of the jar is a layer of rice flour and sugar cane and suspended on top is oil. This mask contains wonderful ingredients - Organic Rice Flour, Sugar Cane, Golden Jojoba Oil, Macadamia Oil, Sweet Almond Oil, Natural Vitamin E, Acai Berry Oil, Camomile Essential Oil, Lemon Essential Oil, Sweet Orange Essential Oil, Peppermint Essential Oil.  The fragrance is citrus which is uplifting but not overpowering.

So how does it work?  You are instructed to massage onto dry skin, leave for 2 minutes and rinse with warm water.  As the product is a little bit messy I opt to use it in the shower.  The granules are very fine, soft and almost a powder.  If my face is feeling overly sensitive I dampen my skin first by either splashing with water or wiping over with Tropic Toner.  As you massage the granules melt away and you are left with a heavy layer of oil.  Do not panic about the oily layer left behind, by the time you finish your shower and get dressed the oil has been absorbed and you are left with super soft silky smooth gorgeous skin.  It is suggested you use this mask twice a week.  I would suggest using it as often as you feel necessary.  Personally I use it as a skin treat every couple of weeks.  It is a gentle product but I do have to be careful not to over exfoliate my face.

What I love about this mask is it is very unique.  When you have sensitive skin exfoliators can be drying but the benefit with this product is the oil replenishes moisture levels.  Aside from being a bit messy, I really cannot find anything bad to say about this product, it ticks all the boxes for me.  I am a huge fan of Tropic skincare I think all the products are amazing.

  1. It sounds like the perfect products for me as I find most exfoliators really dry out my skin!

Also, a random question, but I've been going through my makeup collection & I've found that a lot of my makeup contains mineral oil, do you think I should throw it out? I'm not sure what to do. :)

  2. @Vintage Makeup it really is a personal choice I wouldn't like to tell you to throw out your makeup especially if you spent lots of money on it. Mineral oil is from petroleum so it depends how you feel about using this ingredient. Its is something I choose to avoid as I find it a skin irritant.
