Karma Naturals Mineral Foundation

Karma Naturals Mineral Foundation

The story behind Karma Naturals is a familiar one.  It was created from a desire to find beauty products that did not aggravate eczema.  Products are handmade in UK, 98-100% natural, not tested on animals and free from SLS, parabens, propylene glycol, mineral oils, talc, bismuth oxychloride.

Karma Naturals has a wide range of products available for the body and face.  I currently have a large amount of skin care to use up so decided to buy a sample pack of mineral foundation powders.  For £3 (free P&P) you can select three sample bags.  I am fair skin so chose porcelain, vanilla cream, and nude (honey glow was added to my order).

Below are pictures of the Nude Foundation on my skin.  Now I don't have the greatest of cameras but I think these pictures are a true representation. My brush is nothing special simply a cheap powder brush from Boots.  I tipped the sample into a lid to make application easier.

Lucky for you I broke out in hormonal pimples over the weekend. I have sprouted pimples along the jawline and decided that whopper you see was good focus point for the demonstration. The picture on the left is my skin after cleansing, moisturising and a dab of spot treatment (colourless).  On the right is the finished result after buffing in several applications of foundation. I have not used a concealer on top nor underneath. Not bad results if you ask me. I felt confident not to apply concealer.

You may remember I was impressed with Funky Fresh - review link. I love and use the setting powder on a daily basis but I have not purchased a full size foundation.  Funky Fresh offer a larger colour range than Karma Naturals. Out of the colours I chose I decided vanilla cream was the best fit for my skin tone but the other two were pretty close. Honey Glow is too dark for me. I have enjoyed testing the foundations.  There are no stand out differences when comparing Karma Naturals to Funky Fresh. The Karma powders have a nice soft texture, they are buildable and offer good coverage.

If you are a fan of mineral make up I recommend you check out what Karma Naturals has to offer.  Full size foundation costs £15, blusher and eye shadow are also available.

  2. You know my weakness is with mineral foundations! Haha.
This looks like it gives great coverage, and I'm glad to hear its free from Bismuth Oxychloride. Still using and loving the Funky Fresh mineral powder you last reviewed! xx

  3. Great review Sarah, I'm going to check if they do a bronzer too. I recently got two samples of the Lily Lolo bronzers in my quest to switch to Britiish beauty brands, but neither of them were suitable. One was too light and peachy and the other was nice colour but far, far too shimmery which is a big no-no when it comes to bronzing for guys.
    I'll check Karma Naturals :)

    1. Thanks for your comment Andy, I've never used a bronzer but other Lily Lolo products can be a bit shimmery. Definitely check out Karma but also have a look at Funky Fresh (they sell on ebay)
