Introduction - Dash Skincare

Dash Skincare
I have mentioned plenty of times that my laptop is overflowing with bookmarks for natural companies. It is nice to see that the list is growing but I do struggle trying to get them featured on the blog. My introduction posts are intended to give you a heads up and let you know what's on my shopping list.

I recently came across Dash Skincare and was immediately drawn to them. "Our philosophy is simple: create high quality skincare products that we love to use, with higher concentration of active ingredients than most mainstream brands use, whilst keeping it natural and affordable. Moisturisers, lotions, oils, serums, balms and butters, all made by hand our workshop in the South Downs". The only downside for me is lack of ingredients on their website so I had to drop them an email. I asked for the ingredients of three products that I was personally interested in and here is the information I was provided.

1A moisturiser: aqua (water), prunus amygdalus dulcis (almond) oil, sodium stearoyl lactylate, glycerine, persea gratissima (avocado) oil, olea europaea (olive) oil, glyceryl stearate, theobroma cacao (cocoa) seed butter, cetyl alcohol, tocopherol (vit E), benzyl alcohol, salicylic acid, sorbic acid, citrus sinensis (orange) oil, lavendula angustifolia (lavender) oil, styrax benzoin resin extract, alcohol, pelargonium graveolens (rose geranium) oil. Limonene, linalool, cintronellol, geraniol, citral = allergens present naturally in essential oils.

Sensitive moisturiser - aqua (water), glycerine, prunus persica (peach kernel) oil, oenothera biennis (evening primrose) oil, sodium stearoyl lactylate, sesamum indicum (sesame) oil, calendula officinalis, helianthus annuus (sunflower) oil, glyceryl stearate, aloe barbadensis (aloe vera), tocopherol (vit E), benzyl alcohol, salicylic acid, sorbic acid, cetearyl alcohol, sodium benzoate, potassium sorbate, matricaria chamomilla (chamomile) extract

Creamy cleanser - aqua (water), prunus amygdalus dulcis (sweet almond) oil, beheneth 10, cocamidopropyl betaine, glycerine, cera alba (beeswax), benzyl alcohol, salicylic acid, sorbic acid, lavendula (lavender) angustifolia oil, styrax benzoin resin extract, alcohol, pelargonium graveolens (rose geranium) oil, citrus sinensis (orange) oil. Limonene, linalool, cintronellol, geraniol, citral = allergens present naturally in essential oils.

Based on these ingredients, Dash Skincare are eliminating the familiar nasty ingredients. The only one I would flag up is Cocamidopropyl betaine (synthetic surfactant associated with irritation and allergic contact dermatitis source - ewg.org)When I am next in need of a moisturiser I may give the sensitive one a try, sadly the other two are not suitable for me as I avoid orange oil. I was informed via email "Depending on type of request, we sometimes make special versions of products for people with specific allergies."

The range consists of products for Face, Body, Men, Oils & Serums and Home. They also cater for sensitive, dry and oily skin types. I think the website is worth a browse and I am sure many of you will like the look for this company. Come back and let me know your thoughts and whether you were tempted to make a cheeky purchase.
