Review Moroccan Natural African Liquid Black Soap

Moroccan Natural African Liquid Black Soap

I accepted some samples from Moroccan Natural. I was not familiar with the company but I was attracted to their natural credentials. “Moroccan Natural source their raw materials from the best producers in the global market, More than 98% of our oils are either Ecocert or Soil Association certified. We don't produce lotions or creams as a chemical is necessary to stabilise emulsions. We do not use or sell artificial chemicals.”

The product range covers everything from Culinary Argan Oil to Hair, Face, Lips, Eyes and Body. Argan oil is a prominent ingredient in products but you will also come across Prickly Pear Seed, African Liquid Black Soap and Rhassoul Clay.

African Liquid Black Soap is an interesting product. It is made from dried plantain skins, palm leaves, cocoa pod powder, and kernel oil. The skin of the plantain is dried under the sun and then roasted in a clay oven. Some black soaps can be drying so look out for the ones with added moisturising ingredients like shea butter, honey and cocoa butter. Black soap offers good skin benefits as plantains are high in vitamins A & E and iron. You may have heard that African black soap can be beneficial for skin conditions like eczema, psoriasis and acne. It also makes an effective shampoo.

The ingredients for the Moroccan Natural black soap are water (aqua), cocoa pod, coconut oil and lavender. It has a nice lavender fragrance and produces a creamy lather which did surprise me. The coconut oil helps it to not feel drying on the skin. I certainly enjoyed using this in the shower and would consider buying a full size bottle. If you don’t like lavender then it is also available in lemongrass fragrance. A 250ml bottle costs £12.
