Review: The Rose Tree Carrot & Mango Cleansing Balm

Review The Rose Tree Carrot & Mango Cleansing Balm

If you watched my July Favourites video you would have seen me mention *The Rose Tree Carrot & Mango Cleansing Balm. I know this brand from the Free From Skincare Awards and this year their Radiance Facial Essence with Rose & Marula was awarded silver in the oil & serum category.

The Rose Tree range is luxurious and organic, offering skincare, body care and candles free from synthetic ingredients. You all know that I love cleansing balm and I have thoroughly enjoyed putting this one to the test. The ingredients nourish and rejuvenate the skin with calendula, carrot, coconut, jojoba, lavender, mango butter, rosemary, shea butter, St John’s Wart and vitamin E (FYI not suitable for Vegans contains beeswax).

Review The Rose Tree Carrot & Mango Cleansing Balm 2

This balm is soft, buttery and fragrant, a pleasure to massage into the skin. It removes my mineral foundation which is evident on my muslin cloth. I do not notice any residue after cleansing but since my skin is naturally on the very dry side, I think it likes having the extra moisture. What sets The Rose Tree Cleansing Balm apart from others I have tried? In terms of consistency and results on my skin its performance is identical to others. The difference boils down to the combination of ingredients, carrot seed oil definitely stands out to me.

I am happy to recommend this product to my readers. I also think The Rose Tree range would make a wonderful gift for anyone who adores skincare. Have you tried any products from this brand? If the answer is yes, what would you recommend?

    1. I don't smell mango but pick up the lavender but I always feel sense of smell is so diverse so you could think differently about it :)

  3. I'm a new reader of your blog and hopefully will pick up some useful hint and tips for skincare. I'm 42 years old so I believe I fall into the 'mature' range but the problem is I have problem skin, it's really oily and can be quite spotty! Yay go me with my adolescent skin.
Well I'm trying to drop all types of 'normal' skin care and going for more natural. I jhave found though, after using coconut oil as a cleanser/moisturiser that it breaks me out so I will have to rethink that. I just find natural products so pricey, I thought the more natural way of just coconut oil would be sufficiently good as it is only a quid or so from Superdrug, alas not to be.

    Cxx

    PS sorry I rambled.

    1. Thanks for your comment. I'm not far off your age so I'm also in the "mature" bracket :) Sometimes oily skin is about hormones and could be a sign that your skincare is stripping your skin (its over producing oils to compensate). I wouldn't recommend only using coconut oil for cleansing/moisturising it does cause breakout problems for some people. Jojoba oil is a very good one to use as its similar to sebum. You will have to pay a bit more for natural skincare but there are some wonderful budget brands out there especially the smaller cottage industry types. If I can offer any further advice let me know. Do also check out the blog list on the right, majority are green beauty bloggers based around the world :)
