Review: John Masters Organics Bare Unscented Detangler

Review John Masters Organics Bare Unscented Detangler
Long time followers will know that my hair care routine hasn’t changed much over the years. I have never found anything to beat Odylique Gentle Herb Shampoo and Desert Essence Red Raspberry Conditioner. Every time I venture to something new 9 times out of 10 I am bitterly disappointed with the end results. I want to point this out because I went giddy with excitement and impulse purchased John Masters Organics Bare Detangler at TK Maxx. When I got home buyer’s remorse set in but at least if this turned out to be a bad experience I had only parted with £6.99 (£15 on Naturissimo).

Whilst I was won over on price, I know that John Masters Organics is a premium brand with a good reputation and the Bare Detangler appealed because it is unscented (no need to worry about the dreaded linalool). So how does it compare to Desert Essence? I feel this John Masters detangler is a light weight conditioner, it doesn’t smooth my hair in quite the same way but I don’t dislike it. When I need to tame the frizz I do rely on a couple of drops of hair oil or an extra spray of my Giovanni Flat Iron Spray. For me, the joy of unscented products is they pretty much guarantee I don’t end up with itchy skin or scalp.

I’m not sure if I would give up my Desert Essence for this John Masters Detangler but it’s not a bad replacement. The downside for me is at full price it works out more expensive but at TK Maxx prices it’s a bargain. I’d say this is worth a try if you fancy something new but those with very thick hair might not get on with it, I’m not convinced it would work but of course I’m happy to be proved wrong.

Have you tried John Masters Organic Bare Detangler?
