Rather Lovely Purity Facial Cleanser and Facial Serum (DISCONTINUED)

Review: Rather Lovely Purity Facial Cleanser and Facial Serum
I do hope no one is bored of the fragrance free reviews but I’m cutting down on skincare products with the essential oil allergen linalool. When I had my tests back in 2015, I never realised how much of a difference avoiding linalool could make to my skin. I was hesitant at first because we were not sure if it was a false positive as they had to patch test around my eczema. First change I made was to cut out shower products containing essential oils and immediately I noticed a difference. I have still been using facial skincare containing linalool on and off but I always have persistent patches of eczema on my chin and forehead. I noticed my eczema coming and going and wonder if that coincides with switching between fragrance and fragrance free products (I’m terrible for keeping track of things).

Anyway I am rambling on because I wanted to introduce you to Rather Lovely’s Love Purity Cleanser and Facial Serum* (both do not contain fragrance from essential oils). The cleanser is a blend of jojoba, thistle oil, caster oil, mashmallow root oil and sea buckthorn. The latter gives this cleanser a bright orange colour which it is non-staining to the skin (although the same cannot be said for my face cloths!) Sea buckthorn has rejuvenating and anti-inflammatory properties making it ideal for all skin types. I am a lover of oil cleansers and so this is a perfect choice for me. I don’t find it heavy or greasy, simply enjoyable and effective. Those pesky little eczema patches seem under control, I still have them but they don’t appear to flare up quite as much. Of course I would never promise any miracles but it appears to work well enough to not aggravate my skin.

The Love Purity Facial Serum is simply a blend of rosehip and vitamin E and its perfect morning and evening. I’m a huge fan of rosehip; it just works with my skin type and is said to be good for skin problems such as eczema, wrinkles, scarring and pigmentation, it really is a powerhouse ingredient which I encourage everyone to try. This Rather Lovely serum is light and non greasy but I do have super dry skin so I find most oils disappear quickly on me.

If you like to keep your skincare ingredients simple because like me you are prone to allergies, then do take a look at the Love Purity range. For those of you blessed with other skin types there are facial serums to suit the seasons, which I find a very interesting concept. If you are unsure, I’d suggest taking time to look at the ingredients and pick a blend that suits your personal taste. Whilst I have your attention, I’d also like to mention I’ve been using the Love Purity hand cream for quite some time. It too is a great product, also unscented and non-greasy.

My one minor criticism would be the wording on labels “contains absolutely no added chemicals......” I totally understand where they are coming from as I’ve been using Green beauty for years but since natural ingredients are chemicals I do not feel the wording is accurate or necessary. I think it is better to have a “no” or “free from” list of ingredients that the brand chooses to avoid.

Have you tried Rather Lovely products? What would you recommend?
