Series Article No 9: Swap YouTube Favourites for Green Beauty Alternatives featuring Inika, Nourish London, Antipodes and Pai

Swap clairns glossier palmers the body shop for green beauty alternatives
Its been a few months since I wrote one of these posts. I watch a fair amount of Favourites on YouTube and that often gets me thinking about greener alternatives. I certainly don't want to make anyone feel guilty if they use "mainstream" products but I hope this helps for those who do want to change their skincare routine.

Clairns SOS Hydra Face Mask – I dislike Clairns because you can never find full ingredient lists online. They list key ingredients which tends to be the plant extracts but that doesn't give you a true picture of the formulation. If you want to skip the high street for ethical and greener beauty brands there are lots of wonderful masks available so let me point you in the direction of Pai Skincare Rosehip Bioregenerate Rapid Radiance mask, Dr Hauschka Hydrating Cream Mask, Madara SOS Hydra Moisture & Radiance Mask and Sukin Hydrating Facial Masque.

Glossier Balm dotcom - not a week goes past without someone mentioning Glossier but this balm contains petroleum and lanolin, ingredients which I choose to avoid and don't feel are necessary in my skincare. There are many natural lip balms and some are tinted with natural plant extracts. Check out Living Nature Tinted Lip Hydrator (not vegan suitable), Hurraw Black Cherry Tinted lip balm, Inika Certified Organic Lip Tint, Welda tinted lip balms, RMS Beauty Lip & Skin Balm and Ere Perez Beautiful Beetroot Cheek & Lip Tint.

Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula Skin Therapy Oil boasts no mineral oil, parabens, phthalates but it does contain dimethicone and fragrance, ingredients which I prefer to avoid. I adore body oils but I often favour them unscented such as Ermana Soothe Mama Oil and Trilogy Pure Plant Body Oil. Other brands to check out include Evolve Organic Beauty, Dr Hauschka, Isla Apothecary, Bodhi & Birch, Neom, Inlight, Sukin, Nathalie Bond and Antipodes.

The Body Shop Vitamin C Microdermabrasion contains PEGs, dimethicone and fragrance so I think there are better alternatives. I'd recommend you look at Acure Organics Brightening Facial Scrub, Antipodes Reincarnation Pure Facial Exfoliator, Green People Fruit Scrub, Nourish Kale Enzymatic exfoliator and Sukin revitalising facial scrub.

Most of the products mentioned can be purchased from Content Beauty and Naturisimo.comIf you'd like to check out my last swap article then here's a link - No 8 - Green Beauty Alternatives featuring Eco By Sonya, Siskyn, Tata Harper and Isla Apothecary
