Review Zk’in Certified Organic Brightening & Hydrating Masque and Soothing Hand Cream

Review Zk’in Certified Organic Brightening & Hydrating Masque and Soothing Hand Cream
It’s no secret that I have a special place in my heart for Australian skincare and that comes from a long term love of the country. I recently was given the opportunity to choose products from Zk’in. This Australian brand ticks several ethical boxes, its COSMOS certified organic, cruelty free and vegan. For several weeks I’ve been using Zk’in Soothing Hand Cream and Brightening & Hydrating Masque.

Zk’in Soothing Hand Cream
You’ll know from previous reviews that I’m addicted to testing hand creams. Winter is the perfect time for me to put any product through its paces. The Soothing Hand Cream contains "clinically proven skin repair actives" and colloidal oatmeal to relive inflammation and itching. To be honest when I first applied this light weight cream I was very skeptical that it would help my dry skin but I was proved wrong. It does exactly as it claims and my skin feels smooth and soft with lasting results. It sinks in quickly and beautifully without any hint of greasiness. The packaging is unique because the tube has a pump dispenser which is a nice addition for ease of application.

Zk’in Brightening & Hydrating Masque
I don’t use face masks that often because I have trouble finding one that suits my delicate skin. I took a leap of faith with the Brightening & Hydrating Masque and it paid off. I have enjoyed a weekly application without any sign of upsetting the balance of my skin which at this time is suffering a dermatitis flare up. The formulation is ready to use and contains aloe vera, cocoa, kaolin radish root, glycerin, sunflower seed oil and seaweed. I love how easy the mask is to remove (use a damp cloth). Often if I have to scrub at my skin I can end up with unwanted inflammation. I would agree that this masque lives up to its name as I see temporary brightness and hydration. I don’t feel the immediate need to follow up with a moisturise which is a positive sign for me. In the past I often find clay can leave an unpleasant feeling of tightness across the face. The only downside for me would be the luxury price tag.

Just to note that some of you that are ingredient savvy might pick up "parfum" on the ingredient list. This is fully explained on Z’kin’s website and it something that I have encountered before with other brands.

"While Parfum can be used to describe synthetic fragrances, in this instance it is a completely natural blend of vegetal derived fragrances obtained by fractional steam distillation. We have had to list "Parfum " on our ingredient panels because it is the correct INCI name (International Nomenclature of Cosmetic Ingredients) for one of the natural preservatives we use called Naticide. There is no alternative legal way to list this ingredient." zkinorganics.com.au

I wish I would try more the Zk’in range but unfortunately they are unsuitable for my allergies however I’ve been very impressed with the performance and quality of hand cream and mask.

Have you tried Zk'in?
