Botanicals Therapeutic Foot Soak Review

My new favourite way to relax is with foot soaks. It is a simple pleasure to take ten minutes of "me time". I have two ways of using a foot soak. I will add to a bowl of water and relax in front of the TV or I fill the bath with enough water to cover my feet, take a shower and enjoy the aroma from the steam (I have a shower over the bath rather than separate cubicle).

Pure Nuff Stuff Shaving Soap Review
UPDATE 13.04.15: After reviewing it came to light that Pure Nuff Stuff should not be using the Leaping Bunny logo on products/website. I've had confirmation from Cruelty Free International that certification was terminated in 2013. I am saddened by this information because I bought products in good faith. To date PNS have failed to respond to my email.

I have made a few orders with Pure Nuff Stuff, first it was shaving soap for my other half, then I decided to buy shower gel and foot soak shots. Pure Nuff Stuff is a brand I have had my eye on long before I started this blog. Products are free from the usual suspect “nasty” ingredients (SLS, parabens, synthetic fragrances & colours, petrochemicals etc).

Slowly but surely I have been encouraging Mr Sugarpuffish’s to “clean up” his choice of facial products. I must admit I buy the products and strategically place them in the bathroom. I bought the shaving soap with a bowl (refills available) and I recommend picking up a shaving brush if you don’t already have one.

Mr Sugarpuffish tells me he is happy with the soap. It took him a bit of practice to master the right amount of lather but otherwise he has been managing fine with the switch from aerosol shaving gels. This soap is scented with clary sage and lime but it is not a heavy fragrance. I suspected Mr S was mildly sensitive to mainstream shaving gels and I have noticed improvements in his skin, previously he would get a rash over his chin and I don’t see this when he uses the shaving soap. You certainly do get value for money as the soap with a bowl costs £6.50. I bought it at the end of September 2014, it is used weekly and plenty of product remains at this time.

Pure Nuff Stuff Body Wash & Bath Shots Review

I had previously mentioned the Squeaky Clean Bath & Shower Gel in a post about unscented products. I am really pleased I took the plunge to order this. The ingredients are simple and the option to buy without fragrance is always welcomed where my skin is concerned. This shower gel lathers up nicely on my Konjac sponge and I am very happy in the knowledge that it does not strip or irritate my skin.

I chose the bath shots because I love the concept, they are budget friendly and you can pick scents depending on your mood. I recently have been enjoying foot soaks so I bought Fresh Feet and Arch Angel. My only criticism is the product was compacted into the tube so it did not pour out, I ended up using the handle of a sundae spoon to release the product but aside from this I think they are very nice salt soaks.

Pure Nuff Stuff has a large product range and I definitely recommend taking a look at their website. They may not have the most fancy of packaging but you will find honest ingredients and prices.

Time to Unwind with Relaxing Skincare Products
I think most of us enjoy having a bit of a top to toe pamper at home. I have picked out some products from my collection which I use when I want to unwind.

I enjoy soaking my feet in Pringle & Fairweather Fizzy Foot Soak. Our tootsies often get neglected, mine included. The fragrance of the soak is relaxing and the cocoa butter helps moisturise dry heels. I will often give my legs a massage. Depending on my mood I will use oil or body butter and my current favourites are Opulentia Organics and Bathing Beauty.

When I want to pamper my face I opt for a mask or scrub and I like using products from Pure Thoughts. Afterwards, I apply a thick layer of moisturiser or facial oil and usually just use whatever I have lying around at the time. Currently I am enjoying the Calming moisturiser from Nourish and the Lavender scent is ideal for relaxation.

How do you like to unwind and what are your favourite products to use?

Pringle and Fairweather Fizzy Foot Soak
You may have noticed I been on a discovery mission and have been adding to my growing list of natural skincare companies. Today I would like to tell you about Pringle and Fairweather.

The opening paragraph of their About Us page was what drew me in - “All Pringle & Fairweather products are made in a traditional Cumbrian farm cottage in the middle of the beautiful Eden Valley, North of the more well-known English Lake District. We started making our own soaps because the Pringle half of the partnership suffered from very sensitive skin and often Eczema - we thought that using natural skincare products might help the situation. An initial look at the ingredients in the everyday products that we were using horrified us and spurned us on to make our own.”

The range is perfectly formed, with products for bathing, body care, skin care, hand care, shaving, and soaps. I was instantly attracted to the packaging and ordered the Fizzy Foot Soak When it arrived I was over the moon, I adore the packaging and it would make a lovely gift. I treated myself to a pedicure on my Birthday and after that experience I decided my feet needed some regular TLC. I have also been suffering from swollen feet in the heat wave so my tooties are feeling tender. The little wooden scoop is a lovely touch and you can add as little or as much as you like to warm water. It initially fizzes and then you get a beautiful aroma of rosemary and lavender.

You need a towel nearby to brush off your feet afterwards. There is cocoa butter in the mix and that leaves your skin feeling silky smooth. For extra moisture after I am done soaking, I have been applying Bathing Beauty Sock Balm.

I love the whole experience and I definitely feel as if my feet are the key to my relaxing needs. As for Pringle & Fairweather, I would certainly like to try more products and I recommend you explore their website.

16 June 2013

As you may have read I recently visited The Allergy & Free From Show. There were a large number of food exhibitors but thanks to the Free From Skincare Awards there is also a beauty side to the show. One exhibitor I was keen to meet was George of Bathing Beauty; her Up Close Men’s Shave Oil won Silver in the Men’s Grooming category.

George is an osteopath and ex international fashion model and when combined with three sensitive skinned children, she created the beautiful product range that is Bathing Beauty. Products are handmade in Ruthin, North Wales and most of the ingredients are sourced locally. All products are free from animal testing and many are suitable for Vegans.
George very kindly gave me some sample products – POP effervescent foot reviving tablet, SOCK foot salve and SOOTHE body oil infusion. I really enjoyed using POP and realised that I do not pamper my feet as often as I should. It was very relaxing to sit in front of the TV and soak my feet. The tablet dissolved quickly in the water and the aroma came from peppermint. There is peach kernel oil in the tablet so that explains the silky texture to the water. I did not find it greasy so it was not problem walking around after using the treatment. SOCK is a balm that compliments POP and advisable to use overnight. It was equally a pleasure to use and I will continue to pamper my feet with it. As for the body oil, its early days but I am putting it through its paces on my stubborn eczema. It contains lavender and calendula so it is something I would naturally gravitate towards.

I know I have not had these products for a great length of time but first impression are positive and I am planning to buy some more products, POP is on my shopping list. I highly recommend browsing the website (bathing-beauty.co.uk). Definitely have a look at the Face Tea as it's rather unique and intriguing. Hand on my heart, I can tell you it’s companies like this one that give me a genuine passion for natural skincare. I really do not understand the attraction of high street products when you can find truly natural skincare from a wonderful company such as Bathing Beauty.

What do you think? Are you tempted to buy some products?
