Organii Gentle Care Hand Cream for Sensitive Skin (75ml) - Vegan
I have firm favourites when it comes to hand creams but winter is the perfect time for me to test out new ones because my skin is at its worst. I’m prone to eczema breakouts, cracking skin and visible dryness. Organii hand cream is a nice product but I would describe it as a lotion because it has a runny consistency. It will temporarily hydrate my skin but once I go outside or wash my hands, dryness is visible again and I no longer feel protected. I personally think that Organii hand cream would be better suited to my skin during the summer when I do not encounter extreme dryness. If you don’t mind regularly re-applying it does disappears quickly without stickiness so in that respect it's good for those of us who are always at a keyboard. I’ve always known Organii to be an affordable brand but I must admit for £2.95 you certainly can't grumble about that price!

Santaverde Medium Aloe Vera Cream Fragrance Free (30ml) - Vegan
When I chose this cream from Santaverde I was unfamiliar with the brand and was drawn in because they are a Vegan certified with fragrance free options. I’ve learnt that Santaverde are aloe vera based which is different to many other products that start their formulations with water. This moisturiser is available in three variations – Light (Normal, combined and oily skin), Medium (Dry, normal and combined skin) and Rich (Mature, demanding, dry and stressed skin). Medium suits me perfectly and feels nourishing but without being too heavy or greasy. Products without fragrance tend to have a natural scent from the ingredients. This Santaverde cream is a little funky on aroma but it disappears relatively quickly. I also note that the price ml for ml is higher than my favourite face cream. Thumbs up for being an interesting brand with options for those of us who need to avoid essential oils.
It’s been a while since I’ve had a reed diffuser as it can be hard to find ones that are scented with essential oils rather than artificial fragrance. It is also important to me to have a product that is cruelty free and the Handmade Soap Co promise to never tested on animals. Deciding on a fragrance is just as tricky as picking the correct colour in makeup so I went with a combination which was most familiar to me. The minor flaw with natural fragrance is you don’t get the same scent pay off so whilst I can smell the diffuser from time to time it isn’t overpowering. This doesn’t bother me too much because anything stronger could trigger sensitivities but if you’re switching from a mainstream brand it might come as a disappointment. I find rotating the reeds on a regular basis can help. I think it’s fair to say that packaging is important with diffusers and the sturdy glass jar and black reeds looks elegant and stylish. I also like that refills are available.

Pacifica Indian Coconut Nectar Reed Diffuser
I wanted to write about a new reed diffuser I bought a few weeks ago. You may have seen me mention it in my haul video but it’s from Pacifica in the scent Indian Coconut Nectar. Pacifica is a U.S brand and their products are Vegan and promise (on their website) that they never test on animals or use animal derived ingredients.

Reed diffusers are my preferred method of bringing fragrance into my home. I find mainstream room sprays give me a tight chest but no surprises there considering the type of ingredients in them. I definitely do not have the same problems when I use essential oil based scents. I am unable to give you an ingredients list for the Pacifica diffuser because they do not disclose this information. They are within their rights to do this because perfume is protected under trade secret laws. All I can tell you is the packaging states the fragrance is a blend of natural and essential oils and free of phthalates. Indian Coconut Nectar is described as “warm, sultry blend of coconut and delicate creamy vanilla” and I would agree with this. It’s sweet and sugary which matches my personal taste.

The packaging can be recycled and I like the cute decoration on the glass bottle. I am happy with the level of scent the diffuser releases, it is not overpowering and if I ever feel like it’s disappeared I simply rotate the reeds. Pacifica claims the diffuser will last six months and if that happens I will be very impressed. So far so good as the bottle still looks full and I mention this because my last diffuser seemed to evaporate in a few weeks.

I would encourage you to take a look at Pacifica’s product range as they also create spray, solid and roll on perfumes along with candles, skincare and makeup. There are many scents to choose from so I do not think you would struggle to find one that matches your personal preference.

Have you tried any products from Pacifica? If you use their perfumes do you have a favourite scent?

When you have allergies room fragrance is difficult to use. Everyone likes their home to smell pleasant and I am no exception to this. Aerosol sprays can make it hard to breathe and plug in and candles have potential to burn your house down (dramatic statement but I do worry about these things). I got it into my head that a reed diffuser may be the solution but could I find something natural and plant derived rather than full of synthetic ingredients? It is possible but they come with a higher price tag

TK Maxx is a great place to have a look around and come up with bargains.  I recently found a Parks London Pomegranate reed diffuser which claims natural essential oil ingredients and eco-friendly. I enjoy the aroma and do not find it over powering.  I like it so much that I went back and purchased a larger size. I've since discovered that Parks London also manufacturer candles which (according to website) are made with certified vegan ingredients, eco friendly and natural wax (they do not use petroleum or paraffin).

Do you have a favourite way to fragrance your home or maybe you have allergies so synthetic fragrances are a concern for you?
