Review Giovanni 2chic Ultra-Moist Dual Action Protective Leave-In Spray
My review from 2013 for Giovanni 2 Chic Ultra-Sleek Flat Iron Styling Mist remains one of my top viewed posts. I continued to use this product for many years up until about 2017. I vaguely recalled having trouble finding a stockist and I moved on to Evolve Organic Beauty Nourishing Hair Elixir which I've been using ever since. Sorry if the back story is boring but I want to illustrate my loyalty to products. Anyway this all leads me on to present day when I decided to switch things up again. Evolve Hair Elixir is a lovely product but does list linalool in the ingredients and I'm supposed to avoid this one. I'm unlikely to experience an allergic reaction via my hair but I have to consider my hands when applying the product.
Lets circle back to Giovanni as the 2 Chic conditioners are once again part of my hair care routine. Instead of re-purchasing 2 Chic Ultra-Sleek Flat Iron Styling Mist I decided to explore the range looking for alternative heat protecting and leave in conditioners. Side note: if you choose to avoid dimethicone, then check ingredients because I noticed the odd one or two Giovanni products have this in their formulations. After much deliberation I purchased the Giovanni 2chic Ultra-Moist Dual Action Protective Leave-In Spray. The blurb for this product states the following benefits - "Moisturizes & protects, Creates supple control, Restores shine & bounce, Improves elasticity, Protects hair while heat-styling, Color-Safe, Vegan Friendly".
My hair is fine, coloured, heat styled, dry and damaged so the perfect fit for a leave in spray. I think winter weather and old age are impacting the condition of my hair because its been looking and feeling dry. I'm going grey at rapid speed and that changes the texture and behaviour of my hair. It's always been very fine but I'm lucky to have thickness from volume, it's certainly not thinning out at the moment. I'm using the Giovanni 2chic Ultra-Moist Dual Action Protective Leave-In Spray on damp hair before styling, it's easy to spritz and then I massage in with my hands and comb through. Once dry the results are instantly noticeable and my hair looks and feels silky soft. I think the end results are perfect for me and just what I was wanting. For someone who lives an almost fragrance free lifestyle I will say this product is highly scented, it lingers for hours and on my pillow. I don't hate it or react to it but it takes some getting used to.
Giovanni hair care is ticking all the boxes for me at the moment and I hope you can understand why I keep coming back to them over the years. The price point seems very reasonable to me for a brand that isn't mainstream, as in not available in supermarkets and Boots. Giovanni is widely available in UK through online retailers.
