Discovering more from Odylique Natural and Organic Skincare and Makeup

Odylique natural and organic skincare and makeup
(Gifted Press Samples)

Many of you know that Odylique is one of my favourite skincare brands and I've spoken about their Gentle Herb Shampoo for many years. I thought it might be interesting to share with you other products because there is more to Odylique than hair care. Lets start off with a little background information for any new readers. Originally known as Essential Care, the business was founded by Margaret who started making skincare from natural ingredients to help her family's eczema problems and her own allergy prone skin. The company was launched in 2003 with daughter Abi, products are hand made in Suffolk and re-branded to Odylique in 2014.

If you have been enjoying the sunny weather recently you'll probably have your SPF to hand. In 2016 following its recent launch I reviewed Odylique SPF30 Natural Sun Screen having tested it on the beach in Greece. This sun screen is suitable for all the family as well as vegan, eco-friendly and reef safe. It doesn't contain any fragrance, colour or common allergens and is packed full of skin caring minerals and antioxidant botanicals (shea butter, chamomile, sea buckthorn, zinc, sunflower). It was the first sun screen to be organically certified and approved by the Fairtrade Foundation. When the sun has gone down and you're enjoying alfresco dinning then Mosmix Body Oil may come in handy. It's a massage oil that has a refreshing lemony aroma from lemongrass, lavender and thyme which also helps ward off biting insects.

For those of you that like solid soap bars, Odylique offer a handful of options depending on your skin needs. I've featured here the Tea Tree & Green Clay Cleansing Bar which is suitable for face and body. It is also suggested it can be used as a shaving bar. Green clay, tea tree and lemongrass are good ingredients for oilier skin types as they offer a purifying cleanse. The coconut and olive oils provide a moisturing base so should not strip the skin of moisture. For those conscious about waste the soap box is printed with vegetable-based inks in the UK on FSC certified card.

Calendula Balm is an excellent product for dry, chapped and cracked skin. This balm is similar to the Ultra Balm in terms of textures so it's just a matter of core ingredients that cater to different skin needs. Calendula has repairing and soothing qualities alongside chamomile which is calming. This is a multi tasking product suitable for lips, feet, elbows, hands and cuticles.

Did you know that Odylique have a makeup line alongside their skincare? The collection consists of concealer, eyeshadow, eye liner, mascara, lipstick and lip pencils. Their Mascara has recently been awarded Silver in the Global Makeup Awards 2020. In the past I bought a lipstick for my Mum and she is very complimentary about quality and performance. Odylique eyeshadows are suitable for vegans and sensitive skin. They are formulated free from potentially irritating ingredients (fillers, talc and bismuth oxychloride) and made from pure mineral colours with rich plant oils (chamomile, calendula and sea buckthorn). Pictured above are the colours Sand and Seaweed. The steel pan is recyclable and the sleeve printed in the UK on FSC-certified card.

I hope that has given you an insight into other products available and I recommend you visit odylique.co.uk for further exploration and information about this amazing natural and organic skincare brand.
