What natural skincare is available on the high street?
I’m often asked where to buy natural and organic skincare on the high street. I mainly shop online but if I’m ever caught short e.g. I’m away from home and I’ve forgotten to pack my moisturiser, then I have a few tricks up my sleeve.

Wedding Dress Shopping Plus Size

I decided that I wanted to keep the specific details of my Wedding off my blog. I'm of the mind set that some things should just remain private. There have been little hints to my plans and today I wanted to share an insight into my experience of dress shopping. I decided to write this piece after hours of watching "Say Yes to the Dress" and finally realising that the fairytale doesn't always live up to expectations but I'm okay with that.

Mr Sugarpuffish and I have been together for 10 years so we decided not to have a long engagement and we organised a wedding in a shorter time than you'd usual expect. It's a small event so organising hasn't been too overwhelming but dress shopping almost pushed me over the edge!

I was fighting against my feelings. I wanted a wedding dress but I was battling those inner demons of weight alongside not being comfortable in feminine dresses. I am not in denial about being a plus size but I soon realised the world of wedding dresses is alienating to larger ladies. I ended up doing a bit of research and luck would have it I had a couple of bridal shops within easy reach that stocked plus size designers. It made sense to seek them out because it was totally humiliating, picking a beautiful dress, standing semi naked in front of a stranger and realising that the sample dress is not going past your knees!

Despite some pressure from family I wasn't about to go on a crash diet. Mr Sugarpuffish met me at the size I am and loves me. I'm not about to go changing myself just because it's expected of me. If you're a bride who wants to lose two dress sizes before the big day then good on you for doing it. I for one am sick of the pressure. Of course I want to look my best, I have made better food choices, I have beaten myself up over a bar of chocolate but then I came back down to earth. I am who I am and I like food and hate exercise.

Who I took with me to my appointments was really important. Those who are closest to me, understand my body concerns and give me confidence when most needed. I struggled seeing myself in a dress but when my sister and best friend demanded I order the dress straight away, that gave me the boost I needed.

My wedding dress has currently taken over my wardrobe but the next stage is alterations so I'm looking forward to having the dress fit me correctly. It will make all the difference to how I see myself and I can't wait to wear it on my big day.

I wanted to write my blog post from a different perspective. Visiting stores and stocking up on natural skincare and makeup was a wonderful experience in the presence of like minded people. For me, the day went beyond shopping. It was about meeting the wonderful ladies I spend so much of my time chatting with over twitter. On the whole the blogging community welcomes everyone with open arms but life isn't all unicorns and rainbows. In the last year or two I took a back seat to this community as I was sick of the bitching I have experienced/witnessed. I was tired of the playground bullying but yesterday renewed my faith in bloggers. The Green Blogger Community should be a place of peace, love and harmony, after all isn't that what Green Living is all about?

As I sit here the day after, resting my old bones and sore feet, I want to thank Mayah, Rachel, Jen, Katie, Tania, Liz and Hephzibah for welcoming me with open arms. I truly had an awesome fun filled day and I loved swapping tips on blogging and products. Like many of you have already mentioned, it was a shame that our time with the other group was short and sweet. Shout out to Amber (Amber's Beauty Talk) and Liz (well meaning being) for their awesome hugs. It was also nice to bump into Lilian at Content, even though I didn't recognise her with the new hair do.

If any of you ever find yourself in my neck of the woods, be sure to pop by for a cuppa. Thank you to everyone for being AWESOME xxxx

You have probably read blog posts about Boux Avenue as they have just launched themselves on the British high street. It is a store I passed by and did not give a second glance because I am a girl with curves, 9/10 times shops like these do not cater for me. It was only because I was shopping with a friend that I entered the store.

Bra shopping for the ample bosom is impossible on the high street, for me my only choice is Bravissimo, it also not local and I am bored of what is on offer. Ordering online at specialised websites is a headache. You have to contend with postal charges, couriers who do not deliver on weekends and having to order a large selection to find the correct fit but then the hassle of returning. It is a lot easier to go into a shop, try things on and be fitted professionally.

I was pleasantly surprised that Boux Avenue nightwear goes to a size 18. Even more thrilled that the 18 is a good generous fit. I can not stand a size 18 that fits like a size 14.  I initially dismissed the bras but whilst waiting for my friend in the fitting room I asked the assistant what was the biggest size. Turns out it is 40H. Hooray I am H cup so as long as my bosom does not expand I can shop here. Downside is out of all the bras on display only four designs come in my size, yes FOUR. This is VERY frustrating. The available designs are pretty with not a hint of old lady boulder holders so I do feel feminine in the one bra I purchased. The Assistant told me to take a look online but it offers no more choice and my size is sold out in the other bra I wanted.

Normally I do not blog about this sort of thing but I want to share my envy of ladies with smaller boobies, you get a drama free shopping experience. You know what? I enjoy my food and my boobs match my bum but why does society need to punish me right down to the underwear I can buy? Oh and before you all tell me to lose weight, my boobs have always been big regardless of my dress size.

Boux Avenue you are missing out on a gap in the market. Stock larger sizes, offer more styles and give Bravissimo a run for their money. Big Girls are beautiful and this one wants to shop on the high street for bras.

I like to think of myself as a savvy shopper so I am always cashing in coupons. The best reward programmes for me are Boots and Tesco. I had £15 in Tesco vouchers lying around so felt it was time to reward myself. Over the years I have got Tesco deals on Magazine Subscriptions and Restaurants and most recently at Figleaves. It is worth checking the Tesco Deals site regularly because new companies come on board all the time.

By the way, you don't necessarily need to shop regularly at Tesco to collect points. If you can handle a credit card sign up for Tesco's credit card and use it when shopping online or at other stores. You will still earn points just less to the £1 than what you would collect at Tesco stores. Obviously be responsible don't run up debt and pay the bill to avoid high interest as that counteracts your savings.
