Review Nature & Nurture Derma Renew Exfoliating Cleanser

Review Nature & Nurture Derma Renew Exfoliating Cleanser
Disclaimer - PR Samples

I have previously featured Nature & Nurture skincare in my Christmas Gift Guides and have been testing the Derma Renew Exfoliating cleanser. I’ve decided against trying the entire range all at once because you know how sensitive my skin is and it might not end well.

Nature & Nurture have a great ethical ethos. They are a vegan brand who are totally against the use of palm oil and donate a percentage from sales to the Orangutan Foundation. The product range is anti-ageing and whilst I’m not a mega fan of this message it’s purely personal opinion.

The Derma Renew Exfoliating Cleanser is an interesting product. It’s described as a “nourishing cream cleanser” but it’s not like any cream cleanser I own. I wonder if “gel cream” would be a better way to describe it as aloe vera is the second ingredient listed giving it "jelly" texture. The exfoliating particles are apricot kernels but the product isn’t packed full of them. I don’t find it overly scrubby so it suits my sensitive skin but if you’re someone who likes a deep down exfoliation then perhaps it might not be your best choice. In terms of texture it reminds me of Andalou Naturals 1000 Roses Pearl exfoliator

I enjoy using this cleanser in the shower as it rinses off with water. You could use a face cloth if you wish; it comes off easily either way. The scent is gentle and reminds me of orange sweets (candy). What I do find interesting about the entire Nature & Nurture range is the lack of essential oil allergens. The explanation for this is....”In being directly derived from natural sources, essential oils can be allergens and cause reactions in some people. For this reason, we have ensured that all essential oils used in our products are at concentrations below the recommended threshold levels.” Virtual high five, I love this awareness and for someone who needs to be careful of linalool this ticks the right box.

I think Nature & Nurture is one of the more interesting brands I’ve seen emerge this year. Their ethos is commendable and I think their products are a little different to others. For those who like a minimal skincare routine the Derma Renew Exfoliating cleanser is effectively a 2 in 1 product. If I’m honest whilst I enjoy using this cleanser it wouldn’t replace my all time favourites but it’s a pleasant product which I would happily recommend to you. Next up in my trial selection is the Youth Protect Moisturiser which contains some interesting ingredients including coffee and the Wrinkle Repair Night Serum has an amazing delicious aroma of watermelon.

Have you tried Nature & Nurture products? What did you think of them?
