The Herbjar Review

Recent web surfing lead me to discover The Herbjar. All products are free from parabens, preservatives, petrochemicals, alcohol, nanoparticle, artificial colours or fragrances, hydrogenated oils, ingredients of animal origin, with the sole exception of beeswaxThe Herbjar offers the chance to buy samples, so I decided to purchase a couple. I ordered Coconut & Chamomile Cleansing Cream, Toning & Exfoliation Face Mask and I also received a complimentary Face cream.

When choosing the samples you can select your skin type, I opted for sensitive/dry, the other choices are combination or oily.

Both the cleanser and face cream are solid in the jar. The cleanser requires you to massage it onto damp skin and then remove (I used a muslin cloth). The face cream differs from conventional creams as you need to work it into the palm of your hands, then massage onto damp skin. The cleanser and cream have a gentle fragrance of coconut. I find the ingredients suitable for my skin type and a pleasure to use. I have been left with good first impressions of the cleanser and face cream so I would recommend them.

The face mask was simple to use, it comes in powder form and requires mixing with water. I always find this a bit tricky to get the water quantity correct. The mask was okay but I prefer the ones from Pure Thoughts. These samples cost £1.80 each. Full sizes - cleanser £19.95, the face cream £17.95 and face mask £19.95

  1. The cleanser and face cream sound really good. I love it when you can try samples of things first. I am more likely to try a new brand that way. x

  3. I'm loving the idea of herbs in a jar, great name! Also love samples, like you say small cost for seeing if it's worth a bigger volume :) They look and sound lovely. Not sure if I would use the face mask but would definitely use the cleanser and moisturiser :)

  4. I’ve never heard of this brand but I really like discovering new brands and products and its refreshing to find that you can purchase samples before shelling out for a full-sized product. The face cream sounds interesting, especially as it isn’t just your usual smooth on and go moisturiser.

    1. The moisturiser is very different, it is very similar to another coconut oil product I have. I find it very pleasant to use as an overnight treatment.
