Ruth Romano Cocoa Butter Lip Balm

Dana of Hearty Habits gave a glowing review of Ruth Romano bath salts so when I was asked to test a lip balm I jumped at the offer. I am sure by now you know nothing gets onto this blog unless it meets my natural ethics and I am happy to report Ruth Romano gets a tick in the box. Products are formulated without synthetic ingredients such as DEA, parabens, perfume, phthalates, sodium laureth sulfate (SLES), sodium lauryl sulphate (SLS) and they are fragranced with essential oils. According to the website “None of our products or the ingredients used in them have been tested on animals”

There are four balms available, Cocoa Butter (which I have), Sweet Orange, Lime and Honey. The Cocoa Butter balm is similar to Pure Thoughts which I recently reviewed, it is also unscented. The ingredients are olive oil, almond oil, organic cocoa, beeswax, organic shea butter and vitamin E. I find the consistency easy to work with, it’s that middle ground between being too soft and solid. It melts under the warmth of a finger and I can transfer to my lips. I have had balms that are so hard they do not melt easily so you feel as if you have nothing on your finger to apply.

Ruth Romano lip balm keeps my lips feeling soft and tackles any dry patches. I know everyone thinks PR sample reviews are biased but what is there to fault about this product? I like the simple but effective ingredients. Fragrance free is a bonus for anyone with sensitivities. Due to my allergies I would not be able to use the lime or orange versions, so it’s nice to get a choice of unscented. Balms in tins don’t bother me too much but I know some people would feel differently.

I recommend you hop across to Ruth Romano website (CLICK HERE) and have a look at the other products (soaps & bath salts). They even provide a wedding favour service, cute heart shaped soaps. Prices are reasonable across the entire range and the lip balms cost £3.95.

  1. we love trying out new products, and this might be the next one we try out. we've never heard of this brand before, but it sounds promising. We also love that the lip balm does not contain the usual nasties, and all the flavours sound almost good enough to eat!!
