Antipodes Resurrect Facial Toner
One thing you should already know about me is I love skincare from Australia and New Zealand. When O.N.G introduced me to Antipodes Rejoice Day Cream it was love at first sight. That same tube is still going strong. When my Tropic Skincare toner ran out I was in the market to try something new. Since re-introducing toner into my routine I cannot settle on one particular brand. I have liked many which you have seen in reviews but always have an issue with fragrance. I have a very fussy sense of smell and this is what lead me to purchase Antipodes Resurrect Toner.

This toner‘s fragrance comes from Lavender and Sweet Sage and it smells like heaven to my nose.  It is a sweet scent, one which I am completely in love with.  This is not old fashioned Lavender, it’s delicate and beautiful. In terms of performance on my skin the toner is refreshing and I have no issues with irritation or break outs. My skin is glowing and that’s all I want from my skin care routine. I love the Antipodes packaging but the downside is the large glass bottle is not travel friendly so you will need to decant.

I've decided to update this post as Solace Aromatherapy appears to have ceased trading. The original review was about toners and you may be asking when and why should I use facial mists and floral waters? Facial toners should be used after cleansing to prepare the skin for serums and moisturiser. Toners help to remove excess dirt, traces of oil and makeup, correct and balance the pH of your skin.

Here some alternative facial toner recommendations -

Akin Hydrating Mist Toner - infused with Organic Coconut Water to instantly cool, refresh and hydrate skin. Enriched with Green Tea to tone and Chamomile to calm and soothe tired, stressed skin

Bybi Beauty Mega Mist - Ideal for dehydrated skin, hyaluronic acid plumps and softens the skin whilst rose, orange blossom and lemon balm waters refresh and nourish

Gerlinde Naturals Soothing Toner - ideal for sensitive and mature skin, Key Ingredients include Aloe Vera, Green Tea Extract, Pomegranate Extract

Herbfarmacy Rose and Echinacea Toner - suitable for all skin types, with sweet aromas and botanical extracts of Damask Rose

Odylique Calming Rose Super Tonic - may be particularly suitable for skin prone to rosacea

Sukin Green Tea Hydrating Mist Toner - alcohol-free Hydrating Mist Toner, enhanced with a lively Green Tea & Cucumber scent, invigorates and refreshes tired skin

Naturally Thinking Retail Website

Naturally Thinking is a great company that hand makes chemical free aromatherapy skin care at affordable prices.  I discovered the website a few years ago and have used many of their products.  The range of products available from Naturally Thinking is large and varied.

If you are looking for a low cost but effective paraben free and vegan friendly moisturiser then check out Naturally Thinking.  The range has 8 different face creams for a variety of skin types.  Prices range from £5 to £14 and my personal favourite is Lavender & Geranium (£7).  This cream absorbs easily and keeps dry patches moisturised.  You can compliment your chosen moisturiser with a cleanser, face wash, toner, face masks, exfoliator and eye treatment, all of which are very reasonably priced.

Even though I am not currently using any of their products, I do feel they are worthy of a mention.  We are all feeling the effects of the credit crunch and they are a brand I turn to when my bank account is almost running on empty.  I have never been disappointed with the quality of these products so that is why I have confidence in recommending them. Delivery is available within UK and Worldwide.

UPDATE 2018: The travel kit I was speaking about no longer exists and the closet one available is pictured above.

Madara Eco Cosmetics is a brand I know and love. I recently won (via Twitter) the new travel/trial kit which was perfect timing for my trip to Amsterdam. For those of you that have not heard of Madara it is a natural and organic skin care and make up brand which originates from Latvia. You will not find any chemical nasties in this product range.

The kit retails for £6.95 and contains 5 items - delicate cleansing milk 25ml, deep balance toner 5ml x 2, deep moisture fluid 5ml, regenerating night cream 5ml, eye repair cream 3ml.

It is the perfect way to try these products or if you are already a fan then it saves you the hassle of de-canting your larger sizes. I do not have a bad thing to say about this brand. Also, I can recommend for sensitive skins as I have had no problems with irritation. My favourite product from this collection is the cleanser not only does it perform well but the smell reminds me of marzipan, which I adore.

Has anyone else tried Madara? What did you think?
